Teng Yu Qing
Teng Yu Qing is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interactive Media in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Yu Qing’s works incorporate some use of coding into her installations and films, although Yu Qing is mainly interested in exploring the possibilities of tactile works.
STATEMENT
I feel that urban media art is a great way to bring together Singaporeans, especially the younger crowd to better understand Singapore’s heritage and its architectural history. By utilising technology, it can engage youth at a greater and more intimate level through more personal interactions. I think that it can also help create a breakthrough in Singapore whereby art is often seen as pretty or superficially.
