Curriculum

The curriculum of the Urban Media Art Academy is designed for interdisciplinary and site-contextual learning environments. It explore how to bring media art closer to ethical, culturally anchored and sustainable processes of change in the contexts of local, global and hybrid urban environments today. It facilitates examination and knowledge production about urban media art as an aesthetic interference with current and future urban environments. It introduces participants to internationally oriented historical and theoretical knowledge on urban media art in a combination of artistic, creative, technological and curatorial practices. It combines learning on urban media art histories, urban theory, curatorial inquiries and criticality as well as ‘knowledge from the field’ gathered via field studies, studio visits and conversations with professionals.
